ABSTRACT

Objective To detect the levels of helper T cells (Th) 17 and Th9 cells in the peripheral blood of patients with pedi-atric bronchial asthma and the expression of interleukin 17 (IL-17) ,IL-9 and total IgE in serum ,and to discuss their effect and clini-cal significance in pathogenesis of pediatric asthma .Methods A total of 46 children with bronchial asthma ,including asthma attack group (n=26) and asthma remission group (n=20) were selected .Healthy children were selected as healthy control group (n=20) .Flow cytometry was used to detect the percentages of Th17 and Th9 cells in the peripheral blood .The levels of IL-17 and IL-9 in serum were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) .Serum total IgE levels were measured by the specific protein analyzer .Results The percentages of Th17 and Th9 cells in the peripheral blood were significantly higher in asthmatic group compared with remission group and healthy control group (P<0 .05) .The percentages of Th17 and Th9 cells in the periph-eral blood was significantly higher in remission group compared with healthy control group (P<0 .05) .The levels of IL-17 ,IL-9 and total IgE in serum were significantly higher in asthmatic group compared with remission group and healthy control group (P<0 .05) .The levels of IL-17 ,IL-9 and total IgE in serum were significantly higher in remission group compared with healthy control group (P<0 .05) .The levels of IL-17 and IL-9 in serum of asthmatic children were positively correlated with total IgE levels (P<0 .05) .The correlation analysis results showed that the levels of IL-17 ,IL-9 and total IgE in serum of patients with pediatric bron-chial asthma have a positive correlation .(r=0 .717 ,0 .491 ,0 .786 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion Th17 ,Th9 cells and their cytokines in pe-ripheral blood of patients with pediatric bronchial asthma play important roles in the pathogenesis of asthma and are positively cor-related with the severity of asthma .

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma homoeysteine (HCY) level and coronary-heart disease (CHD). Methods 117 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD group) and 50 healthy controls (control group) were involved in the investigation. Plasma total HCY level was measured with enzymatic cycling assay. According to the clinical types, CHD cases were divide dinto stable angina pectoris (SAP) group (n = 35), unstable angina pectoris (UAP) group (n = 39) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) group (n=43). Based on coronary angiography, the CHD cases were further divided into single-vessel (n = 31 ), double-vessel (n = 40) and triple-vessel (n = 46) groups. Results 1 ) Plasma HCY level was significantly higher in CHD group than that in control group (P<0. 01). 2) Plasma HCY level was associated with clinical types, higherst in AMI group, followed by that of UAP group, SAP group, healthy control group. There was statistical difference of HCY level between SAP group and UAP group, SAP group and AMI group, UAP group and AMI group (P<0. 01). 3) Plasma HCY level was gradually elevated in single-vessel, double-vessel and tri- ple-vessel group. There was statistical difference of HCY level between single-vessel group or double- vessel group and triple-vessel group (P<0.01). There was significant difference between single-vessel group and double-vessel group (P>0.05). Conclusion Plasma HCY level is elevated in patients with CHD, and elevated HCY is associated with increased number of stenotic coronary arteries. As a risk factor for CHD, HCY is closely associated with the occurrence and development of CHD.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the expression characteristic of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in coronary heart disease. Methods 115 patients of coronary heart disease confirmed by coronary angiography were randomly recruited, including 42 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI),34 cases of unstable angina pectoris(UAP) and 39 cases of stable angina pectoris(SAP). Another 50 patients of healthy persons were recruited as control group. Their levels of serum hs-CRP were determined by particle enhanced immuoturbidimetric method at the analysis instrument of Olympus AU2700.Later the variation of hs-CRP before and after treating was analysed. Results hs-CRP concentration of CHD patients was significantly higher than that of the control group(P
